We are disappointed with the Conservative Council’s decision to ignore the concerns of 1657 residents who signed the petition regarding the future of Croft playing fields.

Croft School safety zone & local parking restrictions to be discussed (15th/16th July 2014)

Councillor Nadine Watts (Old Town) would like to bring to your attention that there is an event being held by Swindon Borough Council at Croft School on Tuesday 15 July, 17:00 - 19:45 and Wednesday 16 July 2014, 17:00 - 19:45 to discuss Croft School safety zone & local parking restrictions.

A special Full Council Meeting has been called for Thursday 3 July at 7pm at the Civic offices, Euclid Street to discuss the future of Croft playing fields

For the Croft playing fields, I still think more needs to be done to protect these fields.  Over 1650 people signed the petition calling for the playing fields and car park to be taken out of the lease.

Cllr Nadine Watts: Croft Playing Fields Update

I felt it was important to call a public meeting on 2 April to raise people's awareness of the consultation into the proposal to lease out Croft playing fields for up to 99 years to a third party operator with a 3 year change of use clause and its implications. Over 100 people attended the meeting.

Nadine Watts: Petition to Safeguard the Future of Croft Playing Fields

We call upon Swindon Borough Council to take the car park, Marlborough Lane and playing fields out of the lease, remove the 3 year change of use clause and cap the lease to 25 years for a third party operator of the leisure centre.

Let Councillor Nadine Watts know your views on the Proposed Disposal of Croft Playing Fields

I would encourage both local residents and those across Swindon who enjoy the use of the Croft playing fields and open space to respond to this new consultation on the proposed disposal of the Croft playing fields.

As a result of Proposed Disposal of Croft Playing Fields Councillor Nadine Watts believes the best way to do this is to host a public meeting to provide the opportunity for discussion.  Additional details including information on the consultation can be found in the attached leaflet.
